About the inn
Brambleberry Bed and Breakfast is Wisconsin's most affordable romantic weekend country getaway. Located midway between La Crosse and Black River falls, Brambleberry is tucked at the end of a peaceful valley amidst hundreds of private acres.
It's the perfect place to reconnect with each other for that special anniversary or vacation. Spend precious time alone together in one of our beautiful guest rooms, all with private attached baths. We're one of few B&Bs in the state located on a working farm with miles of beautiful, private, wooded walking trails.
Most rooms have whirlpool baths, cable TV, DVD player, CD player, some with fireplace. Brambleberry has been rated the No. 1 property in our region by TripAdvisor, covering Onalaska, Sparta and Trempealeau.
The inn has been featured in Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Wisconsin Trails and La Crosse Tribune. Brambleberry has been ranked as one of the top 5 eco-elegant bed and breakfasts in Wisconsin by Travel Wisconsin.com.
A progressive establishment, Brambleberry is the first bed and breakfast in Wisconsin to offer Saturday evening harvest dinners during the height of the gardening season. Mid-July through October 80 to 100 percent of the vegetables, meat, fruit and herbs served at our weekend dinner were grown on-site in our organic kitchen gardens.
We also raise purebred Scottish Blackface sheep and Suffolk sheep for direct market sales. We also raise pigs and feature the outstanding homegrown pork products in both breakfasts and dinners.
Area activities abound. You could easily spend days here enjoying all the inn and the area have to offer. Our very comfortable guest rooms are as follows:
Horse and Hounds: $169
Fit for the lord of the manor, this room is reminiscent of the days when the aristocracy enjoyed the traditional fox hunt. Masculine in decor, the room features pictures of fox hunts. Two comfortable mission-style chairs offer a place to watch movies or to put your feet up and read. The king size bed is topped with a half-tester wall canopy. The large double whirlpool will be great to soak in after a day of activities. This room has its own mini refrigerator. Electric fireplace.
English Country: $169
This beautiful retreat is our most requested guest room, popular with wedding night and anniversary couples. The four-poster, queen canopy bed is painted in an antique brass finish. Ivory eyelet dressings drape the bed. English countryside scenes grace the walls. There is a dining table if you wish to enjoy breakfast in your room. Satellite TV and DVD player. Soak in the large double whirlpool from which you can see the electric fireplace.
Wedgwood Room: $139
A spacious, light-filled room featuring a white queen canopy bed dressed in white eyelet bedding accented with a blue toile quilt. Spode and Wedgwood plates decorate one wall. Cable TV and DVD player are hidden in a white armoire. The private bathroom features a smaller double-sized whirlpool.
Victorian Room: $99
One of our smaller rooms, with the prettiest view of a pasture and the creek. A romantic, Victorian-style four-poster queen bed is the centerpiece of the room. An antique Victorian carved settee for seating and a TV with DVD player and local channels. The bathroom features an antique claw foot tub. One of the best buys for a budget room in Wisconsin.
Highland Room: $89
One of our smaller rooms, overlooking the front lawn and the sheep pasture. You can also see the gargoyle, which protects the house from the porch roof. The bathroom is tucked away under a low, sloping ceiling and has a shower/tub combination. Queen size bed draped in a plaid/tartan style comforter with a half-tester canopy headboard. Two Queen Anne style chairs for seating. Artwork on the walls depict scenes from the beautiful Scottish highlands.
We serve a generous home-cooked candlelit breakfast. As much as possible, we try to cook within the seasons. During the winter we still try to provide food from our gardens that has been preserved. Eggs from the henhouse and our farm-raised pork feature prominently in our breakfasts.
Brambleberry is one of a very few bed and breakfasts in Wisconsin licensed to prepare meals other than breakfast on-site. Guests rave about our deep-dish pizzas and our Saturday night dinners.
