Policies: Children over 12 welcome. A $50 deposit will be made to the holding credit card except on event/holiday reservations. Event/holiday weekends require a full payment 6 weeks prior to stay. Event cancellations will be honored 3 weeks prior to event with a gift certificate to be used on a future stay at Second Wind. Non-event cancellations require a 8 day notice less a $20 cancellation processing fee per credit card transaction.

About the inn

Second Wind Country Inn B&B is a peaceful country retreat in rural Ashland located just a few miles from the south shore of Lake Superior on the Chequamegon Bay.
Second Wind is the perfect place for romance, simplicity or for a birthday, family reunion, anniversary, honeymoon or even a small wedding.
Second Wind is located near many activities, including kayaking, hiking, hunting, bird watching, fishing, dog sledding, snowshoeing, downhill and cross country skiing and other outdoor fun. It’s near outstanding attractions like the Big Top Chautauqua, Copper Falls, the Apostle Islands, Little Girls Point and the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center.
There are many festivals within a 30-minute drive of Second Wind, including Sleigh and Cutter Rally, Apostle Island Sled Dog Race, Book Across the Bay, Birkebeiner, Big Granite Inline Marathon, Apple Blossom Run, Chequamegon Woods to Water Relay, Sea Kayak Symposium, Bay Days, Iron River Blue Berry Festival, Fat Tire Triathlon, Lighthouse Celebration, Bayfield Apple Festival and the Whistle Stop Run.

The Bear Den: $109

The Bear Den is one of our most requested suites. Come ready to hibernate. You won't want to leave this room. You'll enjoy a two person Jacuzzi, a cozy log canopy bed, comfy lounging chairs and a private bath. Plus tax. All this plus a breakfast sure to tantalize your taste buds and fill your tummy.

Pine Cone Hollow: $109

Pine Cone Hollow is a cozy north woods room, that comfortably sleeps two adults and two children. It has a Queen size bed, a two person Jacuzzi, a private bath with a bidet, a futon that folds out into a bed for those who are traveling with children. An additional $20 is charged additional guests.

Northern Lights Loft: $159

Northern Lights Loft has the feel of an up-north lodge. It's our largest suite, (1000 square feet) which can accommodate up to 8 guests. It has a private bath with 1 person Jacuzzi, a kitchenette (with microwave, fridge, sink, counter, eating utensils, and dishes), dinning area, lounge area, balcony and an additional loft into our 3rd floor. Price listed is for two guests, $20 for each additional quest. Discounted rates are given Sun-Thurs with multiple nights stay during our winter season. Plus tax.
This room can accommodate up to 12 guests. For reservations above 6 guests, please contact us at 715-682-1000.

Lumberjack Loft: $159

Come enjoy rustic elegance in our beautiful Lumberjack Loft decorated with pictures and mementos from the lumber jack era when Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota were clear cut with horse and man power. It's our newest larger suite, (1000 square feet) which can accommodate up to 6 guests (part bunkhouse style and 1 private bedroom). It has a private bath, a full kitchen (with stove, fridge, microwave, sink, counter, eating utensils and dishes), dining area, lounge area, balcony and an additional loft into our 3rd floor.

Amenities: Three cozy rooms – all with private baths, sitting chairs, two with two person Jacuzzis, one larger suite with single person Jacuzzi, kitchenette and deck. Full Country Breakfast, served in our dinning room or on the deck (weather permitting) with a variety of homemade bakery items often made with fresh ground grain, locally grown berries, fresh fruit, a selection of teas, and our own "Second Wind Blend Coffee" roasted right here in the Chequamegon Bay area.
The Gathering Room, a public place for relaxing, reading, conversation and games. Enjoy our outside decks and swings, evening campfires, and wildlife, all on our 35 acres. Gift nook, Second Wind Mercantile for northwoods remembrances and gifts. Vacation Coordinating, for varied fee, including but not limited to golfing, sailing, kayaking, dog sledding, health club passes, etc. "Special Occasion Services" for varied fee, from flowers, gift baskets, breakfast in bed, evening dessert, or share your idea how we can make your stay special.
